Meet Our Team
We’ve dedicated our lives to compassionate pet care.
It is a great responsibility to guide the health and well-being of your companion animal. We cherish the opportunity to work together to provide education, support and exceptional patient care to you and your pets. Our hospital is a caring and dynamic environment, where people truly love what they do. The team looks forward to meeting you soon!
VeterinarianFollowing graduation in 1994 with a specialized honours degree in Bio-medical Science, Dr. Harron graduated with honours from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1999. Gaining a wide variety of experiences, she practiced veterinary medicine for companion animals in a private practice and with the Mississauga-Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital. In 2007, she and her family moved to the beautiful Orangeville area to join the Dufferin Veterinary Hospital team. It was with great excitement that she became the owner of Dufferin Veterinary Hospital in 2009. With a special interest in rehabilitation therapy, she thoroughly enjoys all aspects and daily surprises of small animal veterinary practice. It is with compassion and enthusiasm that she looks forward to becoming your “other family doctor”—to help you enrich the quality of life for your animal companions. When not desperately trying to keep up with her two young children and bouncing Boxer dogs, her other interests include gardening, downhill skiing and trying not to fall off her S.U.P.
VeterinarianDr. Wilson graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1972 and began his professional career at Dufferin Veterinary Hospital. A partner since 1972, Dr. Wilson has recently embarked upon a new adventure of retirement! Always a big part of the heart of the Dufferin family, we wish Dr. Wilson all the best!
VeterinarianAfter graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in April of 1972, Dr. Pugh was employed for four years in a mixed animal veterinary practice in Forest, Ontario. In January 1976, he moved to Orangeville and worked as an associate before becoming a partner of Dufferin Veterinary Services in 1977. Limiting his practice to companion animals for the last 25 years has been very rewarding as he enjoys the staff and clients that he has met over the years at Dufferin Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Pugh and his wife live in the Town of Mono where they have a larger acreage, which allows them to raise purebred Hereford cattle and provides a place for their Corgi, Lizzie and their cat, Gordo to run and hunt. The Pughs have two children and two grandchildren. Dr. Pugh is a member of the Orangeville Lions Club and the Orangeville Agricultural Society, and a Director of the Ontario Hereford Association and the Canadian Hereford Association. For nine years he led a 4H veterinary science club in Dufferin County. Dr. Pugh enjoys the sport of curling and the occasional tour on cross-country skis.
VeterinarianDr. Voyame has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College. She lives in Orangeville with her husband and two sons. She spends her spare time reading, boxing, watching Coronation Street and walking the beautiful trails of the Headwaters countryside with her trusty dog Lisa.
VeterinarianDr. Clayton grew up locally, in Amaranth. She completed both her Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Guelph with honours. After graduating in 2012, she practiced at a small animal hospital in Elora. In July of 2013, she joined the team at Dufferin Veterinary Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including horseback riding, skiing, camping, and hiking. She shares her home with her husband, two young children, their mixed-breed mutt Teddy, and his feline sidekick Cookie.
“I am very excited to join all of the wonderful staff at Dufferin Veterinary Hospital! It feels good to be practicing so close to where I grew up. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged companions at either the Orangeville or Shelburne offices.”
Bio coming soon!
VeterinarianDr. Hartnett (Dr. Liz) grew up in Kingston and obtained her undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology at Queen’s University. She soon moved to Toronto, where she completed a Masters degree and began a career in environmental policy. On weekends she would volunteer at a local wildlife rehabilitation centre, where she rediscovered her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. Eventually, she decided to follow her heart and apply to veterinary school.
Dr. Hartnett was accepted into the Ontario Veterinary College, and graduated with distinction in 2018. She joined our team in March of 2019 and couldn’t be happier to serve the clients of our Orangeville and Shelburne locations, and their beloved pets!
In her spare time, Dr. Hartnett loves long-distance running, yoga, baking, and watching musicals. She shares her home with two cuddly cats, Ziggy Stardust and Rainbow.
Practice ManagerSamantha has been in the veterinary field for the past 21 years starting as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist and moving forward into becoming an Office Manager. In March 2012, Samantha earned her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation. Samantha is responsible for daily operations of the practice, coordination of Health and Safety program and Inventory management. She has an interest in animal behavior, scent detection work, and dreams of opening a canine training and boarding facility.
Sam has a soft spot for smushy face pups and maine coon cats. She currently owns 2 crazy bullies: Rubix and Steeler and two weird maine coons; Emmitt and Blue. In her spare time, she enjoys training her dogs, playing games on her iPad, listening to music and watching movies of all genres.
Office ManagerDebbie has been a part of the Dufferin Veterinary Hospital team for almost 25 years. Hired as a Customer Service Representative in 1993, she accepted her current position as Office Manager in 2006.
Due to family allergies, unfortunately, Debbie does not own a dog or cat but owns a cheeky white cockatiel named “Phil” who is amusing, to say the least. She also gets her doggy love from her 2 “granddogs”.
Debbie has lived in Orangeville for over 30 years with her husband, 2 sons and 1 daughter (now grown and on their own). Debbie has no qualms about being an “empty nester”.
In her spare time, Debbie loves to go to her family cottage and travelling to different locales and countries. She enjoys reading and is trying (in vain) to master the Spanish language. Hasta luego!
Veterinary TechnicianTabitha is a Registered Veterinary Technician who joined the DVH team in March 2012. Tabitha has been working in veterinary hospitals since 2004 and graduated from the University of Guelph Ridgetown campus in 2008. Tabitha is passionate about every aspect of her job and has a special interest in rabbits and small mammals. At home she has a crazy spaniel named Lucy, 3 rambunctious cats and a thumper of a bunny named Charlie.
Aside from being passionate about her career, Tabitha also enjoys baking, hiking with her pup and camping with her family.
Veterinary TechnicianAimmy is one of our favourite Registered Veterinary Technicians. She is the resident cat groomer and whisperer. She enjoys chilly winter nights snuggled on the couch sipping homemade beer and fruity wine with her boyfriend, their cat Spaz and their insect squatter, who is affectionately named Doug. When Aimmy is not working with us she enjoys attending Scottish highland festivals, admiring both the games and the kilts. The games serve as her motivation to keep in shape in order to tackle that unruly husky, chase that naughty cat and also run a 5 km race with obstacles.
Veterinary TechnicianRachel is a quiet but saucy American who moved to Canada in 2013. She currently resides in the middle of nowhere with a couple of mangy cats, an old stinky dog, a pale skinny farmer and a trio of rambunctious children. In Rachel’s spare time she enjoys embarrassing her children, Gangsta rap, decoupage and glamping. From a young age Rachel knew she wanted to work with animals. In the future she hopes to find an actual paying career in wildlife conservation. For now, she’s happy to express anal glands, scale tartar and perform other equally glamorous necessities for your pets.
Jess joined the team in April of 2018. She recently passed her exams at Seneca College in King City to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, after doing a high school co-op at Dufferin Veterinary years ago and falling in love with the job. Outside of work, she loves to competitively show her horse Jackpot (who she won the “Jackpot” with!) She also loves to spend time with her cattle dog Muskoka (who fittingly loves cottage county) and her three rescue cats Roo, Tequila, and Jozko. She is always looking forward to seeing clients and their fur babies!
Client Service RepresentativeSophie has been providing quality client care at DVH since 2017. Our furry friends and staff love her positive attitude and sweet demeanor. Sophie spends most of her time riding her horse and hanging out with her family. She can often be found busting a move on the dance floor. Sophie really brightens our day and we hope she brightens yours as well.
Client Service RepresentativeTrish joins our team as a Client Service Representative with 17 years experience. Originally a city girl, she now loves living the country life with her husband and their 13-year-old cat Abby. Abby is a bit on the wild side, therefore, Trish’s dream to have a home full of pets is not an option. She is always happy to greet our clients and their pets, and she will love your pets like they are her own.
When not working, she loves gardening, bicycling, hiking, and camping. She has a passion for gorillas and likes to visit Charles and his family at the Toronto Zoo. She also loves watching action movies, Supernatural, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs!
Client Service RepresentativeAfter graduating a one-year program in animal care at Sheridan College in April of 2014, Bailey joined our team in January of 2015. Bailey has always had a strong passion for all kinds of animals. That passion grew stronger when she got her first dog Eddie as a gift from her mother after graduating from college. After moving from her hometown Brampton to Orangeville to start a new chapter, Bailey added another pet to her life. Currently, she shares her home with a dog named Eddie and a cat named Finn. Outside of work Bailey enjoys baking, drawing, crafting, adventuring around Island lake and taking her pups to the dog park. In 2018 Bailey and her boyfriend welcomed a baby girl to their family.
Greeted by Bailey’s smiling face, she looks forward to meeting you and your furry friends. Careful she may sneak in a pet hug or two!
