Dr. Harron

Dr. Harron

Veterinarian

Following graduation in 1994 with a specialized honours degree in Bio-medical Science, Dr. Harron graduated with honours from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1999. Gaining a wide variety of experiences, she practiced veterinary medicine for companion animals in a private practice and with the Mississauga-Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital. In 2007, she and her family moved to the beautiful Orangeville area to join the Dufferin Veterinary Hospital team. It was with great excitement that she became the owner of Dufferin Veterinary Hospital in 2009. With a special interest in rehabilitation therapy, she thoroughly enjoys all aspects and daily surprises of small animal veterinary practice. It is with compassion and enthusiasm that she looks forward to becoming your “other family doctor”—to help you enrich the quality of life for your animal companions. When not desperately trying to keep up with her two young children and bouncing Boxer dogs, her other interests include gardening, downhill skiing and trying not to fall off her S.U.P.
Dr. Pugh

Dr. Pugh

Veterinarian

After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in April of 1972, Dr. Pugh was employed for four years in a mixed animal veterinary practice in Forest, Ontario. In January 1976, he moved to Orangeville and worked as an associate before becoming a partner of Dufferin Veterinary Services in 1977. Limiting his practice to companion animals for the last 25 years has been very rewarding as he enjoys the staff and clients that he has met over the years at Dufferin Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Pugh and his wife live in the Town of Mono where they have a larger acreage, which allows them to raise purebred Hereford cattle and provides a place for their Corgi, Lizzie and their cat, Gordo to run and hunt. The Pughs have two children and two grandchildren. Dr. Pugh is a member of the Orangeville Lions Club and the Orangeville Agricultural Society, and a Director of the Ontario Hereford Association and the Canadian Hereford Association. For nine years he led a 4H veterinary science club in Dufferin County. Dr. Pugh enjoys the sport of curling and the occasional tour on cross-country skis.

Veterinary Technician

Aimmy is one of our favourite Registered Veterinary Technicians. She is the resident cat groomer and whisperer. She enjoys chilly winter nights snuggled on the couch sipping cider and fruity wine with her husband, their cats Spaz and Spud, and their insect squatter, who is affectionately named Doug. When Aimmy is not working with us she enjoys attending Scottish highland festivals, admiring both the games and the kilts. The games serve as her motivation to keep in shape in order to tackle that unruly husky, chase that naughty cat and also run a 5 km race with obstacles.
Rachel, RVT

Rachel, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Rachel is a quiet but saucy American who moved to Canada in 2013. She currently resides in the middle of nowhere with a couple of mangy cats, an old stinky dog, a pale skinny farmer and a trio of rambunctious children. In Rachel’s spare time she enjoys embarrassing her children, Gangsta rap, decoupage and glamping. From a young age Rachel knew she wanted to work with animals. In the future she hopes to find an actual paying career in wildlife conservation. For now, she’s happy to express anal glands, scale tartar and perform other equally glamorous necessities for your pets.
Mackenna, RVT

Mackenna, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Mackenna is one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians in both our Orangeville and Shelburne locations. She graduated from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in 2022. Mackenna is an animal lover of all kinds, which stemmed from being raised on a dairy goat farm just outside of Dundalk. In high school Mackenna did her co-op placement at a mixed veterinary clinic that provided care to both small and large animals, which intrigued her to start her career as an RVT. Each day while working she enjoys learning new things and meeting your furry companions. In her spare time, Mackenna enjoys driving with her country music blaring while sipping an iced cappuccino.
